The Director of Development is an exempt, full time position, reporting to the Executive Director. Works with staff and volunteers to achieve ministry resourcing and organizational awareness.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
:
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, range of $55k-$67k

- Identify, recruit and maintain volunteer relationships to help fulfill Life Forward’s development needs
- Maintain current and develop new donor relationships and church partnerships
- Provide leadership to Events Coordinator in order to oversee Life Forward special events, including but not limited to:
- Strides for Hope 5k
- Volleyball Tournament
- Change for Life
- Manage a part time Development Assistant and Development Intern to help meet organizational needs including supporter recognition
- Implement annual and long range plan that includes annual support, monthly partnerships, major gifts, and special events, through the direction of the Executive Director
- Oversee vendor in support of grant submissions
- Collaborate with Life Forward’s Communications Director to help inform marketing collateral priorities including the annual report, direct mail, appeals, and event promotion
- Collaborate with Life Forward’s Administrative Assistant to help ensure accurate donor data entry and acknowledgement
- Represent the organization at various community functions as needed
- Participate in routine staff meetings and prayer
- Other duties as requested by Executive Director
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years successful experience in development
- Ability to initiate and engage with donors and potential donors
- Highly developed attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with volunteers, colleagues, and donors
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others and provide leadership
- Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekend days
- Ability to travel to other center locations and to presentation meetings
- Demonstrated authentic Christian faith and comfortable with leading small group prayer and Bible study
- Experience managing other employees
- Experience with a donor database system
