Delivering Top-Ranked Pediatric Lung Disease Care Cincinnati Children’s Pulmonology Division is ranked #2 in the nation for Pulmonology and Lung Surgery by U.S. News & World Report (2025–26). Nurses in our pulmonary clinics play a critical role in care coordination across a variety of Burnet campus locations, supporting children with complex pulmonary needs and their families.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated, adaptable Registered Nurse II to join our Outpatient Pulmonary team. This non-acute role focuses on comprehensive care coordination, patient education, and close collaboration with providers to ensure high-quality, family-centered care throughout the patient journey.

Work Schedule
  • Part-time: 32 hours per week
  • Day shift
  • Ability and expectation to flex hours based on clinic schedules and locations
  • Afternoon clinics may extend beyond 4:30 PM; the RN is expected to remain until clinic concludes
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pulmonary care coordination for aerodigesive, tracheostomy, and ventilator-dependent patient populations, paired with 1–2 providers
  • Triage patient phone calls and MyChart messages, responding promptly and appropriately to patient needs
  • Assist with clinic flow to support efficient operations and positive patient experiences
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including:
    • FMLA and school forms
    • Epic in-basket tasks
    • MyChart message management
    • Additional clinic-related documentation
  • Prepare for and staff clinic sessions, including new patient intakes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on individualized plans of care
  • Educate patients and families on pulmonary conditions, treatments, and home-care strategies
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nursing license; must obtain a Multi-State Compact license if joining the team
  • RN II requirements per Cincinnati Children’s nursing framework
  • Strong communication, organization, and care coordination skills
  • Pediatric outpatient or pulmonary experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to varying clinic locations and schedules
  • Active Ohio RN License; may be required to obtain other state licensure
  • Foreign graduates must have license validated through Tru Merit per Ohio Board of Nursing code
