The Christ Hospital Health Network Nursing Process
- Assessment – Deliver comprehensive care by assessing the patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational needs, collaborating with your healthcare team
- Diagnosis & Planning – Create personalized care plans with the patient and family that prioritize needs and goals
- Implementation – Provide evidence-based care by educating patients and families, executing planned interventions, and following hospital policies and procedures
- Evaluation – Monitor and adjust care based on patient outcomes and evidence-based practices
- Leadership & Professional Development – Work with your Clinical Manager to drive improvement and better outcomes through Performance Improvement initiatives; advocate for High Reliability principles; mentor peers and team members while managing patient care effectively
Here are your additional requirements:
- Documentation – Accurately document the nursing process in the patient’s electronic medical record, reflecting the plan of care and timely updates, education, and responses per policy
- Team Member Responsibilities – Adhere to organizational and department policies, complete required training, meet educational requirements, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and legendary patient care
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- BLS required before patient contact
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Unit-specific certifications may be required
The level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a new 15-bed unit. The NICU can care for very preterm infants (as early as 28 weeks gestation) to term infants requiring additional support. Conditions include respiratory support, feeding assistance, neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, glucose instability, and antibiotic therapy. NICU RNs attend all high-risk deliveries and assist with initial assessments. Staff RNs provide evidence-based care with emphasis on skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding, and safe sleep practices.
