Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN training program and possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the State of Ohio.
  • Prefer as a minimum, nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
  • Possess the ability to lift, push, pull, or move 50 lbs on a regular basis and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Possess knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
As an RN you can expect to:
  • Promote the residents’ well-being and satisfaction by supporting resident-centered care, developing and interpreting standards of care, guiding the interdisciplinary team as it establishes and implements the residents’ plan of care with the resident and family or responsible party and the household team. Communicate with other household members regarding changes in resident care plans, diet changes, etc. Participate in or provide input for resident care conferences.
  • Model and ensure that care is provided in a manner that honors resident preferences and individuality. Demonstrate commitment to the highest clinical outcomes.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments and nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and nursing standards of care; ensure orders are followed and narcotic records are accurate. Maintain adequate supplies and keep resident bedrooms clean, safe, and sanitary.
  • Provide professional services such as catheterization, intravenous therapy, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, wound care, and related nursing procedures.
  • Monitor residents’ activities of daily living and coordinate schedules with household members to support participation in activities and well-being.
  • Document assessments and progress notes in the EMR, reflect care provided, and ensure entries are signed and dated. Perform administrative duties as needed and maintain relationships with physicians and other medical personnel to support quality care.
  • Assist household members in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating activity/recreational programs; seek opportunities to enhance residents’ life in the household and community.
  • Uphold the philosophy of Person-Centered Care and support Purpose, Choice, and Freedom for residents wherever possible.
