Registered Nurse PRN – Fetal Care (Inpatient)

Position OverviewThe Registered Nurse II (RN II) in the Fetal Care Program provides specialized inpatient nursing care to mothers whose unborn babies have complex or high-risk medical conditions and fetal conditions. This role is integral to a highly coordinated, multidisciplinary team focused on optimizing maternal and fetal outcomes through advanced monitoring, education, and compassionate support. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nurse to practice at the intersection of maternal and fetal medicine in a nationally recognized program.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to high-risk antepartum and peripartum patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognizing and responding to clinical changes with urgency and precision
- Collaborate closely with maternal‑fetal medicine specialists, neonatology, anesthesia, and surgical teams
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families navigating complex diagnoses and care plans
- Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure seamless transitions throughout the inpatient stay
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio (or eligible)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- ACLS certification (can be obtained after hire)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to family‑centered, compassionate care
- Experience caring for high‑risk obstetric patients
- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C‑EFM), or intent to obtain certification
- Experience in fetal care monitoring, maternal‑fetal medicine, or critical care environments
