Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Overview

Naph Care is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for a Part-time opportunity at the Hamilton County Justice Center located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position includes competitive pay and is a great opportunity for nurses looking for flexible weekend hours while gaining experience in a unique and rewarding healthcare setting.

As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and a multidisciplinary medical team to provide quality care to individuals in custody. In this fast-paced, structured environment, you'll perform assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to urgent medical needs while making a meaningful impact on a patient population with complex healthcare needs.

* Responsibilities

As an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

* Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history

* Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight

* Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas

* Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds

* Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, Tech Care

* Observing patient health and mental health status

* Providing emergency first aid

* Providing patient education and discharge/release planning

Qualifications

Education / Licenses / Certifications / Requirements

* Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

* Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

* Possess an active CPR certification

* Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening

Experience / Skills

* Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

* Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
