The School Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive health services to students within a school-based setting. This role supports student health, promotes wellness, manages chronic conditions, and collaborates with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and emergency response.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies.
• Develop and manage individualized healthcare plans (IHPs), emergency action plans (EAPs), and 504 plans as needed.
• Monitor and support students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and maintain accurate health records.
• Promote preventive care and health education for students, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers to support student health needs.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and school health regulations and policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard student health information.
• Participate in school meetings, care coordination, and community health initiatives.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Previous nursing experience required; pediatric, school, or community health experience preferred.
• Experience working with diverse or underserved populations a plus.
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Experience in school-based or public health settings.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages).
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
