Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care through specialized knowledge, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice to individuals and groups of patients. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care utilizing principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Care is delivered in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team while maintaining culturally sensitive and age-specific practices.
The RN adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics and applicable state nursing practice regulations.
- Perform holistic patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, safety, and educational needs.
- Identify and interpret signs, symptoms, and clinical data related to actual or potential patient conditions.
- Communicate significant changes in patient condition to physicians, charge nurses, and appropriate healthcare team members.
- Utilize standardized handoff and communication methods to ensure continuity of care.
- Assess patients, families, and the environment for safety risks and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Develop, prioritize, and revise individualized patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Establish measurable patient goals and communicate care plans effectively across the healthcare team.
- Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support patient outcomes.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and coordinate referrals based on anticipated patient needs and length of stay.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Perform and delegate nursing interventions appropriately while demonstrating accountability and critical thinking.
- Provide individualized patient and family education based on assessed needs and care plans.
- Review physician orders, coordinate referrals, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care.
- Respond effectively and efficiently to emergency situations requiring immediate clinical intervention.
- Implement infection prevention and control measures, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment and safety protocols.
- Continuously evaluate patient responses to care plans and modify interventions based on evidence-based standards and patient outcomes.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state.
- Ability to provide age-specific and culturally competent patient care and education.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment in all patient interactions.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a culturally diverse healthcare environment.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and clinical decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced critical care environment.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, and emergency response protocols.
- Previous ICU experience preferred.
- Experience working in critical care float pool environments preferred.
- Experience in MICU, SICU, and/or CVICU settings preferred.

- ICU Float Pool assignment supporting MICU, SICU, and CVICU units.
- Night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Every other weekend required.
- Assignment duration: 8 weeks.
