Registered Nurse (RN‑CN1), Neuroscience Acute Care, ONA

UC Health is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse for Neuroscience Acute Care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Unit Details
  • The Neuroscience Acute Care unit uses a teamwork model that allows close collaboration with all members of the team.
  • UCMC has been named the Preferred Neuroscience institution in the area and the unit is a Level 4 Epilepsy Center.
  • Neuroscience Acute Care provides opportunities to expand academic knowledge and offers a teaching environment as the region’s first comprehensive stroke center.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (minimum).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Ohio RN license.
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, implement, evaluate, revise, and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans for each assigned patient within unit standards.
  • Communicate care plans to all team members and prioritize care based on patient assessment.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients/family and involve them in assessment and ongoing care.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to behavioral, psychological, or cultural needs.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and cooperation to meet unit needs.
  • Accurately document the nursing process, including evaluations of treatment, in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for new personnel, floaters, and supplemental staff.
  • Assume responsibility for personal and professional development and contribute to the development of peers.
