Summary
The Cincinnati VHA Medical Center is seeking a Quality Management Consultant RN in Primary Care Service. The RN will have experience and creative approaches to improve quality‑of‑care outcomes and be responsible for documented outcomes at the program level.
Qualifications- English language proficiency (basic written and spoken English required)
- Graduate of an approved professional nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE, or equivalent degrees via recognized equivalency evaluation (e.g., International Consultants of Delaware)
- State‑licensed registered nurse with full, active, unrestricted registration in a U.S. State, Territory, or D.C., or eligible foreign graduate nurse with necessary verifications
- Graduates of foreign nursing schools meeting full‑active‑unrestricted registration requirements, with recognized equivalency validation if education exceeds an associate degree
- Graduate Nurse Technician exception: candidates who meet education requirements but lack licensure may be appointed on a temporary basis while pursuing licensure
- Grade determination based on scope‑education and dimension criteria (practice, veteran/patient‑driven care, leadership, professional development, evidence‑based practice/research) as detailed in the online assessment
- Physical ability to perform typical nursing duties (standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lb, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.)
- Valid vision and hearing adequate for patient care
- Improve quality of care for patient groups and demonstrate program‑level outcomes within the organization
- Collect data, monitor staff compliance with policies and standards, and provide trend reports
- Provide direct staff support in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and administering a comprehensive quality‑management program area
- Participate in facility councils, committees, and work groups
- Manage quality‑management program area activities for the Medical Center and all off‑site locations
- Maintain documentation of outcomes at the program level
