Job Description

UC Health is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg/ICU Float Pool at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. The float nurse will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care across multiple Med Surg and ICU units within a Level I trauma center environment.

• Prepare, implement, evaluate, and coordinate individualized interdisciplinary care plans for assigned patients.
• Communicate care plans and priorities to all members of the healthcare team and establish clear, culturally sensitive instructions for patients and families.
• Identify and respond to behavioral health, psychological, and cultural needs of patients.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting unit needs.
• Accurately document nursing processes and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital policy.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for new, floater, or supplemental staff on the unit.
• Take responsibility for personal professional development and support the growth of colleagues.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with an Associate’s Degree (minimum) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Current Ohio RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of Med Surg experience (preferred).
