  • 2-3 years nursing experience

This position is a multi-functional position that provides a main point person for the bariatric patient in the office setting. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, greeting patients and presenting, reviewing, and answering all questions during the initial overview of the program and the program binder including all pre-surgical requirements after determining the length of the program based on the patient's insurance, as well as scheduling patients program appointments including class and Behavioral Health at the initial consult.

This point person is available to the patient throughout the duration of their program. This position facilitates and provides education for the pre-surgery bariatric patient class, triages all patient needs, requests, and questions for pre-surgical, acute post-surgical, and the long-term post-surgical patient, provides chart review and pre-op clearance coordination. Additionally, this position coordinates the care of the high-risk bariatric surgery patient for full optimization in preparation for surgery and is responsible for post operative follow up calls.

Answering the designated bariatric telephone line, triaging phone calls, answering basic questions about the bariatric program, coordinating and scheduling patient appointments, maintaining and assembling seminar binders and patient charts/documents. This position will maintain the patient spreadsheet for their region which must be kept up to date with all patient progress daily. This position will assist the Program Administrator with data requests, program oversight and meeting the needs of the physicians and their patients.

The position will be expected to attend weight management office staff meetings, the monthly evening bariatric support groups to meet and greet attendees and be available for program questions. Position will work in tandem with the new Nurse Practitioner supporting patient pre-surgery visit outlining expectations and essential post op compliance education and guidelines, as well as supporting the APRN with hospital discharge planning.

  • Works in tandem with the new Nurse Practitioner supporting patient pre-surgery visit outlining expectations and essential post op compliance education and guidelines. Supports APRN with post surgical hospital discharge planning.
