LPN Night Shift

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living facility. The LPN monitors patients’ health, administers basic nursing care, and ensures that patients’ medical needs are met. This role promotes the health, comfort, and well-being of residents by delivering high-quality nursing care in a compassionate and professional manner.

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift: Night Shift (12 hours)

Education Level: High School

Salary Range: $27.00 - $35.00 hourly

• Patient Care:
  Provide basic nursing care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) and report abnormalities to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Assist with feeding, dressing, and mobility; ensure residents’ comfort and safety.
• Follow individualized care plans and provide care according to residents’ needs and medical conditions.

• Medication Administration:
  Administer prescribed medications, ensure accurate documentation and timely delivery.
• Monitor residents for adverse reactions and report concerns to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and residents’ responses to treatments.

• Documentation and Reporting:
  Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of patient care, including vital signs, treatments, and changes in condition.
• Report residents’ progress, concerns, or changes in health status to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Ensure all documentation complies with facility policies and healthcare regulations.

• Collaboration and Communication:
  Work with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and effective communication.
• Communicate with residents and their families, addressing concerns and providing updates on health and treatment.
• Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care plans and outcomes.

• Infection Control and Safety:
  Follow infection control protocols; maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and comply with facility safety guidelines.
• Report safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

• Resident Advocacy:
  Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
• Provide emotional support to residents and families, offering comfort and reassurance when needed.
• Promote a positive and compassionate environment that supports residents’ physical and emotional well-being.

Education: Completion of an accredited LPN or LVN program.

Licensure: Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
