UC Health is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Oncology unit for the Night Shift at the UC Medical Center. Be a part of a growing Surgical Oncology program, by making an indelible impact cancer patient's lives through caring for them with the most advanced treatment.
The Surgical Oncology nurse will support the Medical Center's 24-bed Surgical Oncology unit and Level I Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.
UCMC is at the forefront in treating patients with pancreatic and liver diseases and is one of two centers that offer autologous islet cell transplantation for the treatment of chronic pancreatitis. 9
CCP cares for these patients following ICU until discharge and when patients are readmitted with pain or infection issues. The unit also cares for acute care surgery, thoracic, gynecology/oncology, vascular and colorectal patients.
Most of the patients at 9
CCP are cared for under the direction of a surgeon. Most patients are admitted from PACU, ICU, ER or directly from their home. Nursing care is concentrated around recovery after surgery including mobility, monitoring intake and output and pain management.
