Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal care in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for high-acuity, critically ill neonates. Deliver advanced nursing support to infants with complex medical conditions, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes and family-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor ventilators, trach care, and high-flow oxygen therapy for critically ill neonates.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical protocols.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment including nitric oxide delivery systems, servo ventilators, and bedside monitors.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological neonatal conditions.
- Document patient progress and interventions accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Support families through emotional and educational guidance during their neonate’s critical care journey.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Ohio or multi-state compact nursing license.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years' NICU experience, preferably in a Level IV setting with high-acuity surgical and neurological cases.
- Demonstrate proficiency with neonatal ventilators, Trach care, and advanced neonatal equipment.
- Be BLS and EOWNRP certified;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. - Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, maintaining flexibility for floating within the hospital.
- Exhibit strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
