Veterinarian – Medical Director, Urgent Care
The companyWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to join our newly built hospital in Mason, Ohio, as Medical Director/Chief of Staff, with a special focus on developing and leading our urgent care operations. Our state-of-the-art facility includes a full in-house lab suite, digital x-ray, ultrasound, cold laser, digital dental x-ray, high-speed dental, a modern surgery suite, and isolation rooms.
We also offer robust wellness plans to promote lifelong health for our patients and foster strong doctor-client relationships.
In this leadership role, you will take ownership of building and managing the urgent care side of the practice. This includes designing workflows, establishing protocols, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality care for patients who require urgent attention. You’ll enjoy autonomy in your medical practice while being supported by a dedicated administrative team and the expertise of our Chief Medical Officer (who owns 13 animal hospitals), as well as other seasoned professionals including our Feline Medical Officer, Field Medical Director, and Chief of Staff team.

- Graduation from an accredited veterinary school
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Experience or interest in urgent care, emergency, or high-volume veterinary medicine
- Build and oversee urgent care operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflows
- Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to provide high-quality urgent care
- Develop and implement urgent care protocols and staff training
- Triage, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
- Ensure continuity of care for follow-up patients
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and mentor staff on urgent care best practices
- Manage inventory and supplies for urgent care services
