OverviewThe Shelter Vet is responsible for the general medical condition of all shelter animals; participates in public-facing community veterinary care programs for owned pets, including high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinics. Expected day will include 25-30 spay/neuter surgeries; and shelter animal medical exams and diagnostics for 10 patients.
Responsibilities- Perform s/n and other soft tissue surgeries for 2,000 shelter animals annually.
- Perform s/n for 2,500 public animals annually.
- Diagnose and treat shelter animals.
- Work closely with and direct other veterinary staff to maintain a clean, safe, humane, and professional environment, as well as all licensing and qualifications.
- Practice veterinary protocols that are safe, fear-free, efficient, and humane.
- Working with a great support staff.
- Having a flexible schedule (full or part-time).
- Providing exemplary care for disadvantaged animals.
Candidate must be licensed in the state of Ohio.
CompensationSalary range $70-$85, commensurate with experience.
