Position:
Anesthesia Veterinary Assistant

The Anesthesia Veterinary Assistant performs decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of instrumentation and medical equipment for surgeries and procedures, utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.

Schedule

Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m., rotating on-call weekends

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining proper sterile technique
  • Proactive distribution of all necessary equipment and instrumentation for surgeries and procedures
  • Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination
  • Accurately handle and care for instruments, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents, lubricants, examination for function, identification, and assembly
  • Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization
  • Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment
  • Assembling, disassembling, and disinfecting operating and procedure rooms
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize, time manage, and critically think
  • Capability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
