DescriptionResponsibilities and Duties:
- Performs field safety audits and makes recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
- Performs safety orientations for new hires as needed.
- Oversees random drug screening program.
- Manages company's comprehensive drug and alcohol program.
- Performs and/or assists with accident/injury/incident investigations to determine cause and possible prevent measures for future work of a similar nature.
- Assists with all OSHA related issues such as inspections, citations, hearings, etc. Performs field safety audits to ensure compliance with all OSHA, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations.
- Makes recommendations to management concerning disciplinary actions when safety violations occur.
- Reviews leading safety indicators for potential problem areas where additional safety training may be required.
- Assists with management of the transitional return to work program for injured workers.
- Attends safety related seminars, meetings, forums, etc.
- Assists or conducts all safety related training.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience/Qualifications
Required:
o Minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction industry or a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health.
Job Skills:
- Knowledge of Windows based software (Excel, Word) and any e-mail system. Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of handling confidential information.
- Able to perform climbing (extreme heights), crawling, heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and must not be claustrophobic.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Valid Driver License
