Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will champion quality principles across the organization and ensure products and processes consistently meet customer expectations by driving proactive quality practices across the organization.

To ensure quality excellence and customer satisfaction through disciplined engineering, continuous improvement, and a commitment to doing things right the first time.

Document Customer Requirements

• Direct contact for the customer to ensure customer communication and feedback
• Complete FAI reports per AS9102 for submittal to customers
• Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Experience with APQP and PPAP process (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
• With input from Engineering, plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component. Develop Incoming Inspection requirements
• Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, assist with maintaining customer-specific requirements, Supplier quality manuals, and company quality records.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods and other Quality tools for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
• Develop procedures and work instructions as needed
• Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities and present technical and program information to team members and management.
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
• Manage multiple demands (Internal and External) while demonstrating good attention to detail, schedules and deliverables
• Direct or inform technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
• Participate in contract review process to ensure customer flow downs are communicated and understood

Customer Communication and Feedback

• Manage customer complaints and returns;
  Manage the company's non-conformance databases.
• Lead problem-solving activities utilizing industry standard methodologies: 8D’s, 5 whys, 3x5, Ishikawa fishbone diagrams.
• Work with Sales and Supply Chain staff on customer returns and vendor issues

Internal and Customer Returns

• Perform initial analysis and testing on customer returns/suspect parts and disposition accordingly. Work with Production, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel on RCCA
• Participate in Production and Vendor MRB activities

Auditing

• Conduct Process audits and participate in the Layered Process Audit program.
• Plan and conduct AS9100 Internal Audits as part of the audit team.

• This position requires access to ITAR/EAR-controlled technical data and CMMC compliance; therefore, only U.S. Persons(U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, green card holder) can be considered
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or another technical field
• Two years’ minimum experience in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer.
• Hands-on experience applying quality principles.
• 1-2 years’ experience with AS9100 or IATF

• Electronics background a plus
• Experience with Oracle software a plus

• Quality certification (ex: CQT, CCT, CQE, or CRE) is a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in electronic engineering principles is a plus
• Successful completion of formal coursework involving statistical analysis A demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, changing, and demanding environment.
• An excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
• Demonstrated skills in facilitating cross-functional meetings, managing teams, and working effectively across all functions.
• Proficient with MS Office programs
