Plant Inspector Compensation
Competitive compensation package of $40–$45 per hour.
BenefitsThis is a part‑time position and is not eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities- Provide quality assurance services at various transit vehicle manufacturers and maintain accurate inspection records of each vehicle.
- Communicate progress of construction and inspection to client(s).
- Ensure manufactured buses conform to client’s technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturer’s quality standards.
- Ensure each bus is built to the highest level of reliability and maintainability.
- Represent client and client’s best interests while on‑site during the manufacturing process.
- Ensure each bus is as free of defects as possible when delivered to client.
- Provide, at a minimum, weekly written reports to the customer detailing inspection activities, status of bus production, photos, and additional documentation as appropriate.
- Demonstrate and encourage a “Safety First” lifestyle.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and a physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
