Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Overview
We are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support Pratt & Whitney's EH&S team at our Clayville, NY facility. This role focuses on compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Take proactive steps to ensure safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
- Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions.
- Work with subject matter experts to assure compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS requirements.
- Execute initiatives, programs, reports and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines to achieve compliance.
- Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance.
- Investigate, analyze and interpret injury and near‑miss data; ensure corrective actions are completed on time.
- Prepare and manage documentation related to environmental, health & safety policies for audits and permits and liaise with government bodies.
- Oversee programs related to waste, water, air management, hazardous waste and environmental remediation.
- Develop and advise employee workplace programs related to emergency response, workers' compensation, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
- Maintain EH&S Management System conformance and consistency of record keeping.
- Collaborate across departments to implement EH&S program consistently.
- Travel as required for company seminars, EHS audits, and training opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of EH&S experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with OSHA, federal, and state environmental regulations in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience managing EH&S issues in a manufacturing environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fluctuating environment.
- Professional certification in EH&S (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH).
