The Corporate Safety Compliance Specialist (OSHA/Fire) is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Fire Prevention, and internal safety policies. This role supports the development, implementation, monitoring, and auditing of safety programs to reduce workplace injuries, improve regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture across operations.
The Corporate Safety Compliance Specialist (OSHA/Fire) works closely with the Safety Compliance Specialist (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Region Safety Managers, Operations leadership, and Maintenance teams to identify hazards, evaluate regulatory requirements, and ensure safety programs are effectively implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities of Position:
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure company compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable state safety standards
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes affecting company operations
- Assist in the development and revision of safety policies and procedures to align with OSHA requirements
- Support OSHA inspections, regulatory inquiries, and documentation requests
Program Administration
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety programs and initiatives across company locations
- Assist in the reduction of fire risks and implement initiatives across company locations
Auditing & Inspections
- Lead safety and compliance internal audits
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with the investigation of workplace injuries, near misses, and fires
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents
OSHA Recordkeeping
- Maintain OSHA injury and illness records (OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs); annual reporting as required with OSHA ITA and BLS requests
- Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory reporting requirements are met
- Support preparation of OSHA reports and safety performance metrics
Training & Education
- Provide OSHA compliance training and safety education to corporate teams and new safety managers/supervisors throughout the regions
- Assist with the development of safety training materials and programs
- Support ongoing safety awareness initiatives and employee engagement efforts
- Perform other duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position will not manage employees
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Ability to conduct safety audits and hazard assessments
- Must have ability to train others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them operationally
- Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools
- Ability to build strong working relationships, acting as daily ambassador, with site-level teams to foster trust, accountability, and ownership of safe work practices
- Must possess strong planning/organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
