Quality Control Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control Engineer to join a fast-paced, team-oriented aerospace manufacturing environment in Northern Cincinnati, Ohio. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes to ensure materials, components, and finished products consistently meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace quality standards.

The Quality Control Engineer will take a hands-on approach to quality assurance and work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and customer representatives to identify quality issues, improve processes, and maintain compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inspection, testing, evaluation, and quality control methods and procedures.
  • Establish sampling procedures and oversee the development of documentation and forms used for quality inspections.
  • Develop work instructions, procedures, and training materials related to quality control activities.
  • Monitor production processes and identify variables, deviations, defects, and opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Analyze quality data and maintain charts, graphs, statistical records, and other quality metrics.
  • Identify root causes of defects and support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Work closely with Engineering to define, document, and improve inspection and testing processes.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, process changes, and production requirements to identify factors affecting quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Support the development and maintenance of quality plans and ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and documented.
  • Interface professionally with customers, suppliers, and quality representatives as required.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality standards.
  • Conduct or support employee training related to quality procedures, inspection methods, and quality requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement and help develop effective quality control systems throughout the manufacturing process.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of quality engineering or quality control experience, preferably within aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of AS9102 requirements and First Article Inspection processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production personnel, engineering teams, management, customers, and diverse work groups.
  • Comfortable working hands-on within a manufacturing/factory environment.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming and operating CMM equipment using PCDMIS software.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or composite materials.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with statistical process control, quality metrics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with customer quality requirements and aerospace regulatory standards.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be expected to interact directly with production teams, engineering personnel, management, and customers while driving consistent quality and continuous process improvement.
