As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. A Research Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yu (Agnes) Luo in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
The successful candidate will participate in the development and design of research projects, protocols, and experiments across various topics. Responsibilities will also include assisting with grant proposal preparation and manuscript writing.
Essential Functions
- Modify and adapt experimental protocols, techniques and procedures to specific project requirements.
- Design, coordinate and conduct experimental procedures.
- Data analysis
- Prepare research results and written summaries of results in manuscript form for publications and in graphics form for presentation at research meetings and for grant proposals.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory protocols and records.
- Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
