Job Overview
Postdoctoral Fellow in the Lander laboratory, Department of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Cincinnati. The position focuses on molecular parasitology, specifically on trypanosome cell signaling, with potential for novel Chagas disease control strategies.
Essential Functions- Conduct research experiments in molecular parasitology under the close supervision of the primary investigator.
- Perform functional analysis of proteins involved in cell signaling in Trypanosoma cruzi.
- Apply cellular and molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, gene editing, fluorescence microscopy, gel electrophoresis, western blot analysis, and phenotypic analysis of trypanosome cell lines.
- Gather and analyze data, develop new ideas, and prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Assist in manuscript writing for scientific journals and presentations.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and order supplies as needed.
- Teach laboratory protocols and techniques to others, and mentor junior research staff.
Doctoral Degree in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field before the date of appointment.
