Research Assistant, Timme Lab
A full-time Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Nick Timme in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in neuroscience and make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience. Research conducted as part of the position will seek to understand decision-making and addiction using rodent models.
Essential Functions:
- Perform standard wet lab and animal behavior experiments and record data according to research protocols.
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
- May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
- May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry.
- Apply research principles for less complex assignments.
- Manage IACUC and IBC protocols
- Purchase supplies and maintain laboratory organizational structure
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required
Education:
Bachelor's Degree. Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
