The Divanovic Lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is seeking a motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team. Our group focuses on investigating the development and progression of immune/metabolic/infectious diseases using mouse models and primary human samples through multidisciplinary approaches such as molecular biology, immunology, histopathology, and animal husbandry. In this role, the Research Assistant will conduct both independent and directed scientific studies, support ongoing projects, and contribute to the overall functioning and growth of the laboratory.

This role is an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail oriented, proactive, and excited to work in a collaborative research environment.

• Perform experiments and record data – Follow established research protocols, understand the scientific principles involved, troubleshoot and modify procedures, maintain accurate records, analyze data, design & execute daily experiments, train postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and junior personnel, assist in lab meetings, presentations, publications, and orally present data.
• Research and improve current methods – Use internal and external resources to reproduce, evaluate, research, and improve techniques, bring in new techniques or modify existing ones, evaluate innovative techniques.
• Serve as a Resource – Demonstrate competence in specific knowledge, skills and behaviors, communicate with team members and contribute to their growth by sharing knowledge, experience and skills, stay abreast of changes in key systems, serve as a resource to the department in specific area(s).
• Lab Administration – Troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or problems with laboratory equipment, troubleshoot/modify procedures, maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, maintain cell cultures, operate standard laboratory equipment, assist in daily operations including answering phone, maintain lab supplies, organization, and cleanliness, conduct regular quality checks, provide safety monitoring checks as assigned (radiation safety, biosafety, etc.).
• Customer Service – Maintain/manage strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders, respond to requests quickly and effectively, identify and understand customer needs and expectations and meet them, communicate relevant information to clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders.

• Required for RAII:
  High school diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• Required for RAIII:
  Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND 1 year of directly related experience OR Master’s degree in a related field.

Expected Starting Range: $20.57 – $25.72/hr (RAII) $52,624–$62,150.40/annually (RAIII).
