Job Overview

The College of Medicine Department of Cancer Biology is seeking a highly motivated and talented Sr. Research Assistant to join our research team at the University of Cincinnati.
This appointment focuses on mechanistic and translational liver disease research, specifically investigating the metabolic dysregulation underlying Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Working closely with the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will utilize advanced in vivo , ex vivo , and in vitro models to uncover novel disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic targets.
Come with strong experience and expertise in liver research.
Assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
Essential Functions
- Independently perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
- May maintain and oversee animal colony management and animal husbandry.
- Solve problems using combined research knowledge.
- Analyze research results. Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
- Organize data search and analysis procedures.
- Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
- Assist with the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
- Accomplish assigned results for projects/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
- Serve as seasoned professional.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
