The College of Medicine Department of Cancer Biology isseeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to joinour research team at the University of Cincinnati. This training appointment focuses on mechanistic and translational liver disease research, specifically investigating the metabolic dysregulationunderlying Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease(MASLD), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH),and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Working closely with the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will utilize advanced invivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models to uncover novel disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic targets.
Assist the Principal Investigator in a given department orfield. The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
Essential Functions- Conduct research experiments in a particular field within the pre-determined research scope and methodology.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and presentations of research results.
- Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
- May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

- Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree
- In‑depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
- May require experience with specialized software programs.
- A proven track record of first‑author publications in peer‑reviewed journals, specifically within liver research or closely related fields.
- Extensive experience handling mouse research, liver function assays, and related liver gene delivery.
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
