Job Overview
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day.
A full-time Clinical Research Project Manager position is available in the Center for Clinical & Translational Science & Training (CCTST) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This position will actively participate, plan, and evaluate multiple, complex and/or multi-faceted research programs for one or more designated departments, programs, or central units. Duties can span a broad range of activities or be primarily focused within one or more areas of the clinical research spectrum.
Essential Functions
- Serve as a Research Navigator for the CCTST Research Central, providing investigators with a centralized point of entry for research support services and facilitating timely connection to appropriate institutional resources.
- Conduct intake, assessment, and triage of investigator requests; identify research needs; coordinate consultations; and facilitate seamless handoffs among CCTST programs, cores, and institutional partners throughout the research lifecycle.
- Manage Research Central workflows by tracking requests, monitoring progress, communicating with investigators and service providers, and ensuring timely resolution of research support requests.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational workflows, standard operating procedures, and process improvements that enhance the efficiency, consistency, and user experience of Research Central services.
- Manage complex research and operational data, including acquisition, quality assurance, harmonization, integration, analysis, and reporting from multiple institutional data sources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reports that monitor Research Central utilization, operational performance, service outcomes, investigator satisfaction, and program impact.
- Collaborate with investigators, research administrators, statisticians, informaticians, data scientists, and institutional partners to support study implementation, resource utilization, and data-informed decision making.
- Utilize data analytics and programming tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, REDCap, Tableau/Power BI, or similar platforms) to automate workflows, improve reporting, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and workflow automation, to improve routing, intake, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
