Job SummaryPosition Summary
The Runner/Barback supports bartenders and service staff by ensuring bars and service areas are fully stocked, clean, organized, and operating efficiently. This position assists with food and beverage delivery, replenishes supplies, maintains cleanliness, and helps provide an exceptional guest experience in restaurants, bars, banquet facilities, hotels, and entertainment venues.
Key Responsibilities Bar Support- Restock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies.
- Assist bartenders with setup and breakdown of bar service areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish products as needed throughout shifts.
- Change kegs and replace beverage containers when necessary.
- Ensure bartenders have the supplies needed to provide efficient service.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to guests and service stations.
- Verify orders for accuracy before delivery.
- Communicate with kitchen and bar staff regarding special requests or service needs.
- Assist servers and bartenders during high-volume service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness of bars, service stations, storage areas, and dining spaces.
- Collect and wash glassware, bar tools, and service equipment.
- Remove trash and recyclables and maintain sanitary work areas.
- Clean spills and hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with end-of-shift cleaning and closing duties.
- Provide friendly, professional, and responsive service to guests.
- Assist guests with basic requests and direct questions to bartenders or servers as appropriate.
- Help maintain a welcoming and organized atmosphere.
- Support overall guest satisfaction by ensuring timely food and beverage service.
- Receive and organize beverage deliveries and supplies.
- Rotate stock using proper inventory methods.
- Monitor product levels and notify management of shortages.
- Maintain storage areas in an organized and safe manner.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service regulations and company policies.
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report accidents, hazards, or equipment issues to management.
- Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, or food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of beverage service and bar operations is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
