Accountable to and reports through District Store Director, Store Managers, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, Health Wellness Home, Hy-Chi Department Manager, Assistant Hy-Chi Department Manager, Service Managers. No positions report to this role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
- Smile and greet customers, address by name when possible.
- Assist customers by escorting, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, recording and forwarding suggestions.
- Answer telephone promptly and take customer orders.
- Take orders at the Hy-Chi Department counter.
- Teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Review orders for the day.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures; keep work area clean.
- Monitor food freshness and prepare or follow production list.
- Anticipate product needs daily, prepare, finish, and replenish product.
- Pull product from cooler/freezer to prepare for cooking.
- Check in product, store, and review invoices.
- Run department register, handle payment, make change.
- Remove trash promptly.
- Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines.
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines.
- Report to work on schedule and on time.
- Wash dishes as necessary.
- Order product and supplies as needed.
- Price product for customers.
- Deliver orders as needed.
- Assist in other store areas as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Follow detailed written or verbal instructions with few variables.
- Perform simple addition/subtraction, count, and record figures.
- Understand and follow instructions; write identifying info; request supplies orally or in writing.
High school diploma or equivalent and up to six months of similar or related experience.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Physical RequirementsExperience lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly; able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, use finger dexterity, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Visual requirements: vision from 20 inches or less to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, field of vision.
Working ConditionsExposure to flour, dust, noise, temperature extremes; occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents; fast paced with significant pressure.
Equipment Used to Perform Job- Oven, steamer, scale, big mixer, shrink wrap machine, Telexon re‑ordering machine, register, walk‑in cooler, knives, serving cases, C.A.R.S. system.
- Daily contact with internal customers and general public.
- Weekly contact with suppliers/vendors.
- Contact with Federal/State Governmental or Regulatory Agencies as necessary.
