Generates new business with companies in the 1-99 employees (small/midsize group) market segment through strategic engagement with health insurance brokers/agencies. Establishes, strenghtens, and maintains professional relationships with brokerage partners to obtain critical insights that enable the Company to develop and present solutions aligned with the needs of their clients.
Responsibilities Sales Consultant - Small Group- Leads the initial phases of the sales process by identifying prospective opportunities, conducting comprehensive discovery efforts, and gathering pertinent information from brokers, potential clients, and other relevant sources.
- In collaboration with internal departments, utilizes information gathered during discovery efforts to support the development of competitive rates, benefit offerings, and tailored solutions that effectively address each client's organizational and coverage requirements.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with brokers/agencies and their clients (employee benefits decisions makers).
- Collaborates with retention team on strategies for overall net growth in the Company's small group market segment.
- Updates and maintains CRM system data as it relates book of business and external contacts.
- Assists in group enrollment meetings as needed .
- Stays current on Company products, policies, and practices as well as industry legislation and innovations, and helps convey this information to product development and other internal departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
- Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
- 2-3 years of experience in health insurance sales/business development which includes broker relationships.
- Accident, Health, and Life License with Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) (required to obtain within 4 months of hire).
- Knowledge of the health insurance industry and regulations, health care products and funding arrangements.
- Knowledge of sales and service techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of group underwriting processes and regulations for ACA and non-ACA markets.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
- Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
- 3-5 years experience as a Group Sales Consultant or equivalent experience in health insurance sales/business development which includes broker relationships.
- Accident, Health, and Life License with Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) required.
- In-depth knowledge of the health insurance industry and regulations, health care products and funding arrangements.
- Strong knowledge of sales and service techniques and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of group underwriting processes and regulations for ACA and non-ACA markets.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems skills.
