Role SummaryThe Account Manager reports to the Sales Manager and drives direct outside‑customer sales, ensuring satisfaction through phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions. The role includes territory management, customer interaction, and meeting sales and margin objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Contact customers and articulate Kendall’s value proposition for products and services
- Maintain an up‑to‑date CRM with account, contact, and opportunity data
- Attend sales meetings, company meetings, industry shows, and conventions as requested
- Represent Kendall professionally in presentations, briefings, and trade events
- Entertain customers and maintain goodwill
- Promote customer training sessions such as lunch and learns
- Provide special or emergency deliveries when required
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting
- Forward competitor activity and potential sales leads to the team
- Develop account strategy, goals, and objectives
- Meet or exceed sales targets consistently
- Conduct business reviews to align Kendall capabilities with client goals and present findings to executive levels
- Make calls independently or with internal resources to achieve account goals
- Coordinate with Kendall management, technical staff, and customers to develop strategies, follow‑up, and maximize profits
- Manage proposal delivery, follow‑up, and collaboration with resources for proposals
- Pursue business opportunities that align with company goals
- Maximize gross margin and achieve profit goals for assigned accounts
- Participate in project management meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and identify revenue opportunities
- Review sales reports and provide value‑added service by helping customers find efficient solutions
- Represent the company in a public relations capacity
- Submit call, expense, and other reports as required
- Work with project team to present change orders on given projects
- Act as liaison among Kendall resources to resolve account issues, including project delays, warranty, and repair matters
- Assist in collections from delinquent accounts and obtain credit information for new customers

- Previous sales experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software

- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
- Effective cross‑functional communication and customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and written communication skills
- Physical ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, climb stairs, and operate a vehicle
- Work in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse or fabrication settings
- 3+ years of electrical distribution experience
- 5+ years of sales experience calling on the commercial electrical industry or electrical contractors
- Bachelor’s degree
