National Account Sales Manager - Medical Nutrition (Midwest)

Position Summary

The Manager, National Account Sales will manage a specified account portfolio of Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) including owned/leased/managed home‑care, onsite clinics, and key decision makers. The role executes on channel and GPO strategy, conducts face‑to‑face and virtual interactions, facilitates contract negotiations and RFP responses, and drives strategic national account initiatives.

Territory

Indianapolis, Louisville/Lexington, and Cincinnati markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed sales objectives, including growth and profitability targets for assigned IDN accounts.
  • Review monthly sales performance and set specific growth strategies to meet or surpass organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term plans for National Accounts, gaining deep understanding of decision‑making processes and key influencers.
  • Ensure alignment of customer and Nestlé objectives to achieve contract and business outcomes.
  • Cultivate long‑term relationships with IDN leadership, C‑suite and senior VP stakeholders, and build a network of key advocates.
  • Lead pricing and contract negotiation with input from Sales Operations and senior sales management, and facilitate contract completion.
  • Track field performance and sales results, recording activity consistently in the CRM for call preparation and market intelligence.
  • Manage customer relationships, identify opportunities for penetration, and capitalize on contract initiatives.
  • Monitor industry and competitive activities, update account plans accordingly, and participate in mandatory meetings and events.
  • Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of medical/clinical selling experience in a hospital setting with key account management; C‑suite selling strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience managing complex, cross‑functional projects.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of IDN strategy and structure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Veeva, and Power BI (CDR and Contract Lookup).
  • High motivation, strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage sales responsibilities.
  • Curiosity and flexibility to maintain account rosters and customer groupings in Power BI.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and adaptability to industry changes.
  • Analytical skills to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of NHSc operating principles.
  • Ability to translate data into strategic decisions and leverage digital tools.
