Job SummaryThe Outside Sales Representative – Safety & Risk Management is responsible for developing new business opportunities and delivering consultative solutions that help organizations improve workplace safety and comply with OSHA and DOT regulations.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Prospecting, cold calling, and scheduling appointments
- Manage sales processes and presentations with business owners
- Work with current Sheakley partners
- Maintain positive client relationships
- Promote and educate employers on the need for creating safer work environments
- Complete required sales paperwork in a timely manner and finalize new client contracts
- Accomplish sales goals and quotas established by management
- Local travel throughout the assigned market area
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Open minded and coachable
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Organization, attention to detail, flexibility and strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to work without direct supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations preferred
- Formal sales training (e.g., PSS or similar) is a plus
- 2+ years of successful B2B sales experience (consultative or solution-based sales preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience selling to small and mid-sized businesses preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships and generate referrals
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Experience selling complex or intangible services is a plus
