Reporting to the Syneos Health Senior Sales Director (SSD), the District Manager (DM) is responsible for the successful management of a team of Sales Representatives (SR) in an assigned district. The DM will oversee the activities and performance of their team and is responsible for meeting or exceeding program goals.
Essential Functions- Lead a team of Sales Representatives to promote products to targeted physicians and accounts to achieve specific business goals.
- Direct Sales Representatives in the acquisition, expansion, and retention of targeted business within the assigned geographic area.
- Participate in the formulation of sales strategies, interpret strategies, and apply business initiatives within the geographic area. Develop and execute plans that effectively translate national and area strategy at the district level.
- Engage with key customers by developing and implementing strategies that support product growth.
- Establish and manage district expense budgets and ensure appropriate return on investment.
- Ensure administrative project activities are accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Work in the field with Sales Representatives on a consistent basis, evaluating, coaching, and directing live and virtual sales presentations.
- Attract, coach, develop, and retain individuals who ensure high-level performance.
- Provide verbal and written guidance, coaching, follow-up, and development of sales professionals in all phases of their work.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships with key executives and decision-makers in key accounts.
- Foster a positive working environment and demonstrate competencies including accountability, teamwork, performance empowerment, strategic thinking, business acumen, and respect for diversity.
- Operate within compliance guidelines at all times.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
- 5+ years of Consumer Health or Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- Proven success in team leadership and product launch environments.
- Strong ability to hire, lead, coach, and mentor high-performing teams.
- Local and national travel required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must live within territory or territory boundaries.
- Understanding of compliance and privacy laws.
