A Day in the Life of an Institutional Relationship Manager

As an Institutional Relationship Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to some of the firm's largest and most strategic institutional clients. Your day is centered on building long-term partnerships, anticipating client needs, and delivering an exceptional experience that strengthens relationships and drives growth. You will also opportunistically prospect for new business opportunities throughout the region.

You will collaborate with investment professionals, executive leadership, marketing, legal and operations to ensure every client interaction reflects the high standards of Fort Washington Investment Advisors. Whether you're leading quarterly business reviews, coordinating client onboarding, identifying opportunities to introduce additional investment solutions, or representing the firm at industry and community events, you ll play a critical role in our continued success.

What You Can Expect
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the client lifecycle—from onboarding through ongoing relationship management and retention.
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships through consultative conversations and tailored investment solutions.
  • Drive third-party asset growth by proactively sourcing and pursuing new institutional prospects through networking, meetings, calls, conferences, and referrals.
  • Represent the firm at more than 100 client, industry, and community events each year, building meaningful connections and strengthening our presence in the marketplace.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and strategic business reviews with senior executives, investment committees, and boards.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team that celebrates wins together and supports one another s success.
