Job overview: A full‑time Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Hyacinth I. Hyacinth in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. The Research Assistant will assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, making independent contributions based on professional training or functional experience.
Essential Functions- Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
- Manage the animal colony and carry out limited animal husbandry tasks.
- Involvement in performing bone marrow transplantation experiments.
- Tagging and genotyping of animals in the colony.
- Enter and record animal genotypes and discuss assignment of these animals for experiments with Dr. Hyacinth.
- Apply research principles for less complex assignments.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
