Arcadis is seeking an Entry Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our team in either Ohio (Cincinnati, Columbus, Akron, Cleveland) or Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, Sewickley). While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 95% to 100% of their time in the field.
As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life. Your work may involve a range of remediation, sampling, and monitoring activities as directed and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety or other operational standards.
Role accountabilities- Actively participate in field activities, supporting drilling operations, installing monitoring wells, and describing soil or rock.
- Conduct soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards.
- Perform data management tasks (compilation, manipulation, evaluation) and provide support in writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Produce figures, maps, and boring logs for visual representation of project information.
- Perform fieldwork, including drilling oversight for soil sampling, groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
- Data management on tablets, including compilation, evaluation, and QA/QC.
- Local and regional travel; willingness for overnight stays up to two weeks at a time.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related field. - Preferred:
Prior environmental fieldwork internship or work experience.

Salary range: $49,680 - $74,520 per year (actual salaries vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location).
