The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology is seeking either a Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
Final rank will be commensurate with experience.
- Independently perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
- May maintain and oversee animal colony management and animal husbandry.
- Solve problems using combined research knowledge.
- Analyze research results.
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
- Organize data search and analysis procedures.
- Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
- Assist with the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
- Accomplish assigned results for projects/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
- Serve as seasoned professional.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non‑exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Research Assistant Required Education- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
- Computational science, biomedical informatics

- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience.
