An Unarmed Flex Security Officer protects property, assets, and people across various sites – patrols, surveillance monitoring, building inspections, and ensuring overall safety. The primary duty is to observe and report while enforcing applicable laws and policies. Flex Officer assignments may vary based on staffing needs.
Position Responsibilities- Observe and report by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, conducting regular inspections to identify and prevent security risks, illegal activity, or breaches.
- Operate and monitor surveillance equipment to safeguard the premises.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with site staff and company personnel regarding security matters.
- When required, complete detailed incident reports and keep accurate records of security-related activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action.
- Provide excellent service by assisting visitors and employees with inquiries and concerns.
- Manage conflicts and disturbances calmly and professionally.
- Collaborate with law‑enforcement agencies as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to security functions and processes.
- Complete additional work tasks with guidance from the Field Support team.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED – required.
- Reliable transportation – required.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred; experience in a school setting is a plus.
- Strong observational and problem‑solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification desirable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Flexibility to work all shifts on any given day, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with employees and/or customers.
- Willingness to push/pull/carry and lift up to 50 lbs.; stair climbing, walking, and standing as required.
- Normal vision or corrected with glasses and/or contacts for reading and viewing.
- General computer knowledge and ability to adapt to software easily.
