Job Requirements
  • High School Degree or GED
  • 2‑4 years technical experience in Criminal Justice, Police or Military preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Current OPOTA certification or ability to obtain certification within 45 days of hire
  • Valid Driver's License with no more than 4 driving points recorded on a motor vehicle report
  • No prior DUI/DWI convictions within the last 5 years
  • No major moving violations convictions
Job Overview (Responsibilities)

Officers must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Responsibilities include:

patrol buildings and grounds to deter and prevent law and policy violations, post‑up at specific locations when assigned, ensure safety and security of patients, parents, visitors and team members, maintain communications with the Communications Center and other Protective Services personnel by two‑way radio, phone and other devices, ensure only authorized personnel admitted, respond to and investigate complaints, file documentation, emergency response to distress calls within 3 minutes, assist clinical staff with patient restraint, evaluate and act on safety emergencies, serve as liaison with police and fire agencies, direct traffic within campuses, control parking, escort visitors, enforce parking rules, maintain security logs, provide information, enforce Tri Health policies and procedures, and maintain a source of authority and visibility.
