Part-Time/ Full-Time - Up To 32-40 HPW Compensation: $24-30/hour, based on experience. Candidates MUST have a 20-Hour OPOTC. If you do NOT have a current 20-Hour OPOTC Certificate, you will not be considered for this position. CCW Permits are not an acceptable substitute for the 20-Hour OPOTC.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly professional Protective Security Specialist to support asset protection efforts in a retail environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, maintain a visible and professional presence, and take a proactive approach to monitoring store activity and identifying potential risks.
This role involves maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for customers and staff by observing entrances and exits, verifying purchases when appropriate, and helping to prevent loss or unauthorized removal of merchandise. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with customers in a respectful, customer-focused manner while upholding company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Access Control:
Monitoring all public access points, while ensuring guests feel welcomed and at ease. - Crowd Control & Safety:
Monitor the venue for hazards, disturbances, or emergencies, and utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment. - Staff Escorting:
Provide a secure escort for staff in public areas.
Employees who successfully complete all required components of the PELTA Training and obtain the required certifications may be eligible to receive an increase in compensation upon successful completion of the academy, in accordance with the company's applicable compensation structure and policies. Prior to the completion of the academy, candidates will start with a base rate dependent upon experience and certification held at the time of hire, NOT during the lifetime of their career.
Employees may be required to have their own duty equipment to include Firearm/Holster, Plate Carrier/Armor, etc. while waiting on company loaned equipment to be issued to them. Company issued equipment includes uniform shirts with interchangeable PVC patches, NIJ Certified 3A/HG2 Body Armor & Carrier (based on availability), Body Worn Camera, Tourniquet, Oleoresin Capsasin (if certified), Handcuffs (if certified), Taser 7 (if certified).
Employees will ultimately be responsible for purchasing a duty weapon, holster, and belt that meets company policy. Uniform/Duty requirements will be provided at the time of interview.
Successful completion of the academy is subject to meeting all PELTA training, performance, certification, and qualification requirements. Failure to successfully complete all required certifications or training may affect eligibility for any associated compensation increase.

- Education:
High school diploma or higher. - Experience:
PRIOR MILITARY AND/OR LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR 8 years customer security experience will be considered as an acceptable substitute. - Skills:
Strong situational awareness, customer service orientation, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills, and excellent interpersonal communication. Candidates must exhibit discretion, professionalism, attention to detail, and accountability. - Certifications:
OPOTA Certification REQUIRED. - First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are preferred, and candidates with additional experience in EMR, EMT, or Paramedic roles or with less-lethal certifications (OC, baton, taser) are highly regarded.
