* * Overview:
** Xavier University is seeking a full-time Plumber.  Key duties include performing preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, troubleshooting issues in various building systems, and managing work orders through the campus's maintenance system. The role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles and safety standards.  This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the university’s physical environment and support its mission to educate each student intellectually, morally, and spiritually within a Jesuit Catholic, liberal arts tradition, fostering lives of solidarity, service, and success.
** Responsibilities:**
* ** Install, repair, and maintain:
** Install and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets), pipes, and other plumbing materials throughout campus buildings.
* ** Troubleshoot and diagnose:
** Investigate and fix problems in plumbing and related systems, such as water and drainage.
* ** Preventative maintenance:
** Perform scheduled maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems to prevent future issues and ensure continuous operation.
* ** Work order management:
** Complete and manage work orders using the campus's computer maintenance management system.
** Requirements:
*** High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training is preferred.
* Experience in plumbing, maintenance, or a similar facilities role is typically required, often 3-5 years.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with standard plumbing tools.
* Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, working from ladders, or in confined spaces.
* A valid driver's license
