Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow the agreed practices as defined in the quality management system.
- Work within the scope of your responsibilities.
- Check your work to verify its accuracy in meeting the objectives.
- Know how you contribute to the achievement of the objectives.
- Supervise installation and startup of machines at customers’ plants and maintain all working components as determined by customers’ needs.
- Travel to customers’ locations to supervise installation of our machines and perform startup of new machines.
- Perform field troubleshooting on both warranty and repair orders.
- Review jobs in the shop as production is in progress for possible field service problems.
- Perform shop fabrication procedures including welding, layout and sheet metal fabrication on customers’ machines at their sites.
- Perform electrical fault/function tests on customer’s machinery.
- Estimate materials needed to troubleshoot customers’ machines.
- Train other employees and/or customers on machines.
- Prepare service reports on jobs in the field.
- Assist Field Service Supervisor when required.
- Assist work with manufacturing department on an as‑needed basis.
- Other functions as directed.
May assist in training of temporary/new employees.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma, and/or equivalent. Minimum of 5-7 years of practical factory experience including welding.
Language SkillsCommunicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments and supervision regarding work in progress, problems and/or completion.
Mathematical SkillsBe able to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers.
Reasoning AbilityBe able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.
Certificates/Licenses/RegistrationsNone.
Physical DemandsStand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor. Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and/or bend on an as‑needed basis. Must be able to adjust visual focus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance of a lifting device.
Work EnvironmentTraditional shop atmosphere. Subject to temperature variance based on season. Loud noise level. May be exposed to various fumes or smells based on job.
Travel65-75% travel.
