Job Summary

This is a semi-skilled laborer position performing various non-skilled and semi-skilled tasks at assigned job site projects in a safe and efficient manner that will contribute to projects being completed successfully and on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned.

Operational Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of tasks to include job setup, cutting rebar, job site cleanup and other work to be performed.
  • Performs a variety of support activities that are primarily manual in nature and require the use of various hand tools as well as pneumatic tools such as jack hammers, drills, and gas generators.
  • Loads and unloads project materials and carries to a particular work area at a job site; erects scaffolding and ladders, holds materials, tools and supplies, cleans the work area and removes trash and debris.
  • Identify and recover salvageable materials and properly dispose of non-salvageable materials.
  • Maintains good housekeeping on project job sites; ensures hand tools and miscellaneous equipment are staged safely during the workday to avoid workplace injuries.
  • May clean tools, equipment and materials as necessary.
  • Checks the job site at the end of each workday and ensures all equipment and tools are secure from theft.
Organizational Responsibilities
  • May prepare project reports or complete project related forms.
  • May drive a company vehicle (not requiring a Commercial Driver’s License) to transport crews and project materials.
  • Will actively participate in company safety and operations meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: Prior project / construction job site experience preferred
  • Reasoning Development: Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables in or from the situations encountered on the job.
  • Mathematical Development: Add and subtract two-digit numbers, perform basic multiplication and division.
  • Language Development: Ability to read workplace rules and procedures; prepare project forms and reports, using a prescribed format.

    Certifications:

    Valid driver's license and a driving record suitable to the Company's insurance carrier.
Physical Demands

The position is considered to have moderate to heavy physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb up to nine feet on ladders, work in overhead structures, walk, stand, twist, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel at least 90% of the workday. The employee will occasionally be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 50 and up to 100 pounds and frequently be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 25 and up to 50 pounds during the normal course of a workday.

Work

Environment

Over 90% of the employee’s time will be spent working outside on demolition job site projects. The employee will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions common to the local climate. The employee may be required to wear protective headgear, eyewear, ear protection and other personal protective equipment as project conditions warrant.
