Job SummaryEMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Tech in Cincinnati, Ohio. High quality standards is a must. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and possess good oral and written communication skills, professional appearance, and a positive attitude. Must be self‑motivated and a self‑starter. General handy man, carpentry skills, ceiling tile replacement and repair of locks, closures, repairs of walls, painting, rubber base, carpet, and floor tile.
Minor plumbing repairs: unclog sinks, toilets, fix minor leaks. Electrical: replace ballast bulbs, etc.
- Frame metal stud or wood framed walls and ceilings.
- Hang and finish drywall in preparation for finishes.
- Install wood and hollow metal frames and doors, including associated hardware such as locks, closers, and panic devices.
- Complete general building repairs, including repairing and painting walls, doors, floors, etc.
- Repair plumbing system issues such as leaks and stoppages, replace sinks, piping, valves or drains, and toilets.
- Replace lighting components, ceiling tiles, and grids throughout buildings and offices, including minor electrical repairs.
- Install wood trim such as base, crown molding, chair rail, and door trim.
- Assemble and install specialty items such as lockers, benches, toilet accessories, and partitions.
- Maintain doors and door hardware, repairing or replacing as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely paperwork related to all duties.
- Communicate directly with the customer and manager to ensure all aspects of a work request are understood, including parts ordering and potential delays.
- Repair and replace carpet tile and rubber base when required.
HS Diploma or GED.
Business Experience4 – 6 years of related experience.
Licenses & CertificationsMust possess a valid driver license.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Ability to work and communicate professionally in occupied space environments with a variety of customers. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, which may include weekly or bi‑weekly stays out of town.
