Automatic Door Technician

DH Pace, a national leader in commercial and residential door, dock, and security systems, is seeking an Automatic Door Technician. In this field-based role, you will install, troubleshoot, and repair automatic doors, operators, sensors, and related access systems on construction, industrial, and institutional sites. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical/mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, reading blueprints, and ensuring code and safety compliance. You will interact with customers, document work performed, and travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair automatic doors, operators, sensors, and controls
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on-site
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on door systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Ensure work complies with safety standards, codes, and company policies
• Document work performed, parts used, and maintain accurate service records
• Communicate with customers to explain findings, repairs, and maintenance needs
• Coordinate with dispatch and team members to manage daily service schedule
• Operate hand and power tools, lifts, and test equipment safely
• Travel to commercial, industrial, and institutional job sites as assigned
